Are sugar gliders ok with kids?

I am a old man who has had many different kinds of pets for many years and from my experiences with sugar gliders ,I would hesitate to recommend them to anyone.The experiences I had with them proved to me they are a naturally wild creature that cannot be tamed! I have had squirrels of different breeds including flying squirrels, monkeys, opossums, raccoons, Javelins, ( Wild pigs) and one lynx.
