Rasism still around?

a kid im my school (i go to a prestigious jesuit prep school) always wears a confederate flag belt buckle... his facebook profile picture is him with a dead animal he shot and a confederate flag. i have a problem he does this but i would never confront him about this because i dont want to involve myself with him. but today he told a half black half white kid in our school (the kid is kind of slow too) that "the south will rise again" he is obviously getting in a lot of trouble but what do you think about this and what do you think his consequences should be?
