I need advice on dry for open concept kitchen/dining room?

cabinets are medium/darkish cherry. counters are crema bordeaux granite. walls are light taupe/sand. table and floors are medium dark brown. should the ds be lighter or darker than the walls? stripes to include the existing colours?
