Where online is the best place to make friends?

im 19,nearly 20. so no kiddie or teen sites please and nothing for oldies either. im genuinely looking to meet some people, nice people who i can make friends with and maybe people around my area to hang out with. where is the best place or places to make online friends? im on the normal sites,facebook,myspace, makefriendsonline..etc.... but they're not really that good. help?
