I say go for it. Maybe use some dark auburn highlights if you're going for a dark chestnut brown. Although, the Alice style is anything but fuss-free, you have to dry it, possibly straighten it, use product, hairspray, etc. It's easy though because it's not a long, and complicated hairstyle.
